Conflict: The Nichols, Samuel Mann - Handwritten notes regarding his son, wife, parents and self indicate a death date for his father Horatio Barnes Nichols of 15 May 1940 while the Nichols Family Bible of Horatio Nichols b. 1831 indicates a death date for Horatio Barnes Nichols of 14 Apr 1940. Who recorded the later entry in the bible is unknown while Horatio Barnes Nichols, II is fairly certain that his father recorded the handwritten notes. The death date of 15 May 1940 from the handwritten notes of Samuel Mann Nichols was chosen since Sam was likely to have been accurately aware of his father's death date.
